Laura Stamm is Assistant Professor of Health Humanities and Bioethics and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Department of Medicine at University of Rochester. She received her PhD in Film and Media Studies and Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Stamm's research interests broadly focuses on LGBTQ+ health, transgender studies, and medicine in visual culture. Her work appears in several academic journals, including Alphaville, MAI: Feminism & Visual Culture, Spectator, and TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly, and her book project, The Queer Biopic in the AIDS Era, was published in 2022 with Oxford University Press.
